Description:

New A-5 .79 Synchronized 5th Gear Kit.  Will only equal a .79 Final Ratio, if utilized with a 2.95 1st Ratio Gear Kit. Can be used with a Tremec T-5 "Super Alloy" 1st-4th, A-5 1st-4th, or G-Force T-5 1st-4th to achieve the .79 Final Overdrive. Works with all World Class 28 Spline Mainshafts. Doesn't require any modification to the Tailshaft Housing or Case.  Utilizes the Factory/OEM Synchronizer Ring for 5th, but is not sold with the 5th Set.

The A-5 5th Gear Kit has a Reduced Helix Angle that reduces the Side Thrust on the Casing by 50% over that of the Stock Gear Kit.  Add that to the fact that the Gear Tooth Profile being Equal to that of our A-5 1st-4th Gear Kit, and you get a 5th Gear Kit capable of supporting in excess of 500 Ft. Lbs. of Torque!

Notes:

The A-5 .79 Overdrive Gear Kit may require the 5th Fork to be "clearanced".  This is not mandatory in all models, but needs to be checked before completely assembling gear box.  Astro Offers Clearanced 5th Shift Forks, which can be purchased by adding it in the Attribute List at the bottom of this Page.
